More than 100 Crows fans embarked on the inaugural Crows Cruise during October – enjoying the holiday of a lifetime and raising $10,000 for the Crows Children’s Foundation in the process.
Managed by Holidays of Australia, the trip stretched across 14 days taking in Darwin, Port Douglas, Cairns, Airlie Beach and Brisbane.
Before departing, the group spent three days together in Darwin where they got to know one another by touring Litchfield Falls, attending a VIP night at Crocosaurus Cove and exploring the city in general.
Once on board the Royal Caribbean, Radiance of the Seas, guests were treated to a special ‘sail away’ cocktail function – the first of many great nights on the ship.
Several Crows themed activities were held throughout the nine nights of the cruise, with plenty of opportunity for guests to celebrate their love of the Adelaide Football Club.
One night cruisers re-lived the 1997 and 1998 grand finals, with expert commentary and insight provided by former players Rod Jameson and Kym Koster, hosted by Matthew Clarke.
There were many highlights, the group as a whole was fantastic, the weather was perfect and the scenery and country was amazing. Sailing around the top of Australia with Cape York and Thursday Island in view to the right and Papua New Guinea to the left was something few people will ever be privileged to see.
A fundraising auction was held on the second to last night, with cruisers proving very generous in support of the Crows Children’s Foundation and Childhood Cancer Association.
Holidays of Australia managed the whole trip to the finest details and could not be faulted.
Thank you to everyone who was involved!
