Sam Shaw and Troy Menzel have been cleared to compete in Sunday’s SANFL Showdown VI at Alberton Oval.
Ruckman/forward Luke Lowden will also return from injury in the clash with Port Adelaide.
Shaw and Menzel return after stints on the sidelines with concussion symptoms.
It will be Shaw’s first game in over three months since Adelaide’s Round Three victory over Woodville-West Torrens. The Club has taken a conservative approach with the 25-year-old’s recovery given his prolonged symptoms.
Menzel has missed four matches after suffering his second concussion of the year in Adelaide’s loss to Central District in Round 13. The skilful left-footer, who has kicked six goals in his last four SANFL outings, will start on a half-forward flank for the clash with the Magpies.
Lowden has overcome a hamstring strain sustained in Adelaide’s win over North Adelaide earlier in the month. The 206cm former Hawk has been named at full-forward.
Development squad trio Matthew Leigh, Matthew Johncock and Josh Wittwer have also been included in the squad on an extended interchange. Adelaide’s 21-man SANFL team will be finalised on game day.
Paul Seedsman, Wayne Milera Junior, Harrison Wigg and Reilly O’Brien have been listed as outs at this stage with all four named in Adelaide’s extended AFL squad to take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval.
The Magpies hold a 3-2 head-to-head advantage over the SANFL Crows, but Adelaide has won the previous two meetings between the two teams. Read the full match preview
