Carlton star Bryce Gibbs is keen to return home to South Australia, says Adelaide GM of List Management and Strategy Justin Reid.
Gibbs, 27, is contracted to the Blues until the end of 2019, but Reid said the Crows would hold talks with Carlton about the possibility of securing the best-and-fairest winner in this year’s Trade Period.
“Bryce and his management have spoken to the Adelaide Football Club. He’s got a strong desire to come home (to South Australia), but we also respect that he’s a Carlton Football Club player,” Reid said at Etihad Stadium on Monday.
“We’ll have discussions behind the scenes and work through it. It’s early days and he’s a contracted player, so we probably don’t want to get too much into it (public discussion) right now.”
Gibbs has played 209 games for the Blues since being recruited from Glenelg with the No.1 pick in the 2006 AFL National Draft.
