Crows midfielders Scott Thompson and Harrison Wigg have signed one-year contract extensions.
Thompson, who has played 307 AFL games, will enter a 17th season.
The two-time Club Champion and respected leader will continue to mentor Adelaide’s younger onballers, with a view to developing a coaching career once his playing days finish.
Thompson played 22 games this year, ranking No.1 at the Club in clearances, second in tackles and third in disposals.
Wigg, 19, has been rewarded for a consistent second season with the Crows.
The left-footer finished third in Adelaide’s State League Club Champion voting, averaging 23 possessions, five marks and three clearances. He was on the verge of making his AFL debut this season, named as an emergency on a couple of occasions.
From North Adelaide, Wigg was the Club’s second pick (No.35 overall) in the 2014 National Draft.
Crows General Manager List Management and Strategy Justin Reid said the Club was well placed heading into the trade period and next month’s national draft.
“We are pleased with how our list is developing and a number of players in both the AFL and SANFL line-ups made good progress in 2016,” Reid said.
“However, there is always room for improvement and as we have often stated we will aim to bolster our talent through the draft while targeting specific needs in the trade window.”
