The Crows have selected ruckman/defender Reilly O’Brien with pick No.9 in the AFL Rookie Draft.
O’Brien, 19, devoted more time to football this season with TAC Cup side the Calder Cannons after focusing on his studies last year at St Kevin’s College and missing out at the 2013 draft.
The 201cm tall, who has good speed and endurance for his size, shared the ruck duties for Calder this season but has also played in defence against taller forwards. He also played two VFL games for Coburg in 2014. He studied biomedicine at Melbourne University this year after a recording 99.75 tertiary entrance score.
