Match fitness won't be an issue for Adelaide star Rory Sloane if he's cleared to face Greater Western Sydney at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.
Sloane missed the entire JLT Community Series with a fractured eye socket sustained in a training collision with in mid-February.
The All Australian vice-captain had an artificial bone inserted to replace his eye socket and returned to running two weeks ago after it had sufficient time to heal.
"I had a really sharp build up last week," Sloane told Triple M on Wednesday.
"This week I've been feeling really good on track.
"I knew it wouldn't take too long to come back feeling great because I haven't missed a session (before the injury) the whole pre-season."
Walker, Sloane ramp up recovery
Sloane and captain Taylor Walker (hamstring) are the Crows' two major injury concerns heading into their season opener.
Both will have to emerge unscathed through a training session at Adelaide Oval on Thursday to take their place in the side for Round One.
Asked if he was confident Walker would play against the Giants, Sloane said, "Yes, but again, it all depends on tomorrow.
"You want to get up to full speed.
"If he can feel confident going in and make sure we won't be a man down at any stage, (then he will play)."
