Key forward Sarah Perkins headlines two inclusions to Adelaide’s Round Two side to take on Carlton this Sunday.
Perkins will play her first game of the season after missing out on the Crows’ Round One loss to the Western Bulldogs due to a back injury that restricted her training loads post-Christmas.
Coach Matthew Clarke said the 25-year-old would provide the team with another strong target in front of goal.
“Sarah had an interrupted post-Christmas period and obviously only played 25 minutes of our trial game in Darwin,” Clarke told AFC Media.
“However, since then she’s had three full weeks of training, which puts her in a position where physically she’s able to complete the amount of work we need her to in the game.
“We look forward to her getting back to her best.”
Danielle Ponter, 19, will make her AFLW debut against the Blues following a strong performance in Adelaide’s backline during its trial match victory over Fremantle in January.
“Danielle has worked really hard over the off-season, she’s been playing football in the AFLNT league, so we’re excited to get her in,” Clarke said.
“She played really well in the Darwin game across the half-back line and was probably pretty stiff to miss out on Round One.
“She comes in for Jenna McCormick who’s obviously playing soccer and we just look forward to seeing Danielle get out there and demonstrate her talent, which is enormous.”
McCormick wasn’t selected in the initial squad of 23 due to her finals commitments with W-League side Brisbane Roar.
Former Blue Sophie Li has been named as an emergency against her former side alongside midfielder Sally Riley.
Adelaide will take on Carlton at Ikon Park on Sunday from 4.05pm AEDT.
