Young onballer Matt Crouch has been included in the AFL’s Team of the Week for the first time this season.
The young onballer, who turned 22 last Friday, amassed a team-best 35 disposals and nine clearances against Gold Coast on Saturday. Crouch also had four inside 50s, four rebound 50ms and a goal.
Matt starred alongside older brother Brad, who was also industrious in his return to senior football with 33 possessions and eight tackles.
Matt Crouch was named on the interchange in the AFL’s Round Five Team of the Week.
Fellow onballer Rory Sloane was the only other Crow to feature in this week’s team after yet another outstanding display against the Suns.
Sloane, who leads the AFLCA Player of the Year award, amassed 30 possessions and nine clearances and laid a match-high 13 tackles. He also booted an amazing goal late in the second quarter.
The courageous Crow was named as rover in the week’s team. It’s the fourth consecutive round Sloane has featured in AFL Media’s Team of the Week.
A host of Crows, including Rory Atkins, Rory Laird and Taylor Walker could consider themselves unlucky to miss out on a spot.
Greater Western Sydney led the way with four players in the Round Five Team of the Week ahead of Hawthorn with three representatives. Adelaide, Fremantle, Geelong, Port Adelaide and Richmond had two players included while Melbourne, Essendon, Gold Coast, North Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs had one player apiece.
