Adelaide and Collingwood have met 41 times, with the ledger in the Pies’ favour 25 – 15 and one draw.

However, the Crows have had the upper hand in recent years, having not lost to Collingwood since Round 16, 2013.

The draw occurred in the most-recent meeting between the two teams at the MCG in Round 19 last season.

The Crows came from 50 points down early in the third term and levelled the scores with a brilliant individual effort from Mitch McGovern. McGovern took a big pack mark just before the final siren and held his nerve to slot his fourth goal.

Daniel Wells and Taylor Adams were superb for the Pies that day, each collecting 34 touches and kicking three goals.

For the Crows, Matt Crouch amassed a game-high 36 possessions and 10 tackles.

The Crows have hosted Collingwood twice at Adelaide Oval, winning both matches by an average of 24 points.

Fans love this fixture, with the crowd figure topping 50,000 on both occasions.

The last time the two teams met in Adelaide in Round 17, 2016, Brodie Grundy collected the three Brownlow votes despite the Pies falling short. He finished with 23 disposals and 32 hit-outs. Brad Crouch took the two votes with Adam Treloar claiming one. 

2014 Club Champion Daniel Talia will take the field for the 150th time on Friday night. Talia not only holds the record for most one percenters in a season by a Crow (231), he takes up the top five spots in the Crows record books.

The Pies broke through for their first AFL win of the season last Friday night against Carlton. Steele Sidebottom was excellent, gathering 34 disposals and three goals while Josh Thomas kicked a career-high five goals from 15 touches.

Collingwood also had a huge win in the VFL over the weekend, defeating the Northern Blues 201 – 71. Returning midfielder Jordan De Goey finished with four goals from 24 touches while forward Jamie Elliot kicked five of his own, both pressing their chances for a ticket to Adelaide this week 

The record for most goals in a game between Adelaide and Collingwood is held by Saverio Rocca, who booted 10 at the MCG in Round 13, 1993. Tony Modra has the most by a Crows player with eight.

Rory Laird has a total of 114 possessions in 2018, second only to Hawthorn’s Tom Mitchell (136). Laird however has a disposal efficiency of 80.7 per cent while Mitchell sits as 69.1.

Adelaide defender and Rising Star nominee Tom Doedee ranks second in the League (minimum two games played) for disposal efficiency (93.4 per cent) behind St Kilda’s Nathan Brown (95.2). Brown has had 21 total disposals whereas Doedee has collected 61.

The Crows have recorded the highest kicking efficiency (72.9 per cent) across the first three rounds and overall hold the highest disposal efficiency (77.5) with the Pies seventh (74).

Collingwood have handballed the most of any team so far this season (544), with Adelaide sitting second (532).

Round Three saw Adelaide record an equal round-high eight scoring shots from defensive 50 rebound. The Crows are ranked first overall (17) with the Pies 17th (8).

Adelaide currently ranks equal-first for inside-50ms as a result of kick-ins (10). Collingwood are the lowest ranked (4).

Paul Seedsman recorded the most metres gained in Round Three (710m). Seedsman sits atop the rankings for average metres per disposal (25.6) in 2018. 

Adelaide has done a great job of holding onto the ball this season, ranking first for time in possession in 2018 (46 per cent).

Collingwood defender Lynden Dunn spends an average 93 per cent of games on the field, the highest for the Pies. Kyle Hartigan spends the least amount of time on the pine for Adelaide, averaging 95 per cent game time.
