A solid team effort has seen Adelaide triumph over St Kilda by 49 points at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night.
After a slow start to the night, the forward line kicked into gear in the second half to see Eddie Betts mark the birth of his twin daughters with a return to the score sheet, finishing with three majors. Skipper Taylor Walker booted three of his own, while Mitch McGovern finished the evening with two.
Bryce Gibbs was again superb for the Crows, tallying 26 disposals and a game-high 10 tackles to go with eight clearances and another goal in the tri-colours. Paul Seedsman's season has started strongly and he continued that form at Etihad Stadium, amassing 26 touches at over 80 percent efficiency to go with a game-high 710 metres gained, eight inside
Sam Jacobs was dominant across the ground, recording 37 hit-outs and 20 possessions, 12 of which were contested. Richard Douglas showed his importance to the side once more in his return from suspension, kicking a goal and getting his hands on the ball 22 times, with over half of those contested.
Rory Laird showed no signs of slowing down in 2018, collecting another 32 touches and seven marks and laying six tackles in another excellent performance. Last week's NAB AFL Rising Star nominee, Tom Doedee, again excelled down back with his intercept marking and defensive rebound abilities. The back line as a whole held strong to keep the Saints to just seven goals for the night.
