Fans love to see courage on the football field and when Hugh Greenwood was crunched in a marking contest by one of the tallest players on-field, Mark Blicavs, the 46,095 fans at Adelaide Oval were on their feet (with most calling for a free kick).
For Greenwood, it was just another day in the office, but we may have another player to thank for providing the inspiration.
Defender Tom Doedee took one of the marks of the season in the Round 16 loss to Richmond, leaping high over Tigers star forward Jack Riewoldt with eyes only for the football.
Chatting to AFC Media post-game, Doedee joked he had given Greenwood some pointers on how to go back with the flight of the ball.
“Yeah, he’s been asking me for a few tips,” Doedee said.
“He’s been getting into me about my basketball ability but then he asked me about my footy ability.
“I gave him a few tips and he showed plenty of courage there so it’s good to see.”

Whether Doedee forgot to mention the part about looking out for flying defenders, we have no idea, but the pair continues to put their bodies on the line week in, week out.
With Greenwood walking away unharmed it was thankfully just another snippet for the highlight reel, while Doedee was just happy to get a good night’s sleep following the win.
“I’m just happy we got a win,” he said.
“Last week [against Richmond] it doesn’t matter if you play well and you lose, you still think about all the things you did wrong at night.
“So I’ll sleep well tonight after a win.”
No Mark of the Year nomination, but we think @TDoedee31's hanger is worthy of another watch #weflyasone pic.twitter.com/cmscpIVckv
