Crows Club Champion Matt Crouch is one of two inclusions for Saturday night’s clash with Gold Coast.
Crouch, 23, returns after missing the past three games with a hamstring injury.
Wingman David Mackay, who sat out Adelaide’s win over the Sydney Swans as he recovered from
Defenders Kyle Hartigan (hamstring) and Jake Kelly (hand) are out of the team that beat the Swans.
Hartigan will miss 2-3 weeks with a hamstring strain, while Kelly has a hand injury.
“Jake couldn’t get through main training, so we’ll assess how he goes training over the weekend and
Forwards Lachlan Murphy and Darcy Fogarty, ruckman Reilly O’Brien and rookie Patrick Wilson are the emergencies.
Murphy has recovered from hamstring soreness, but Burton said the form of promising pair Jordan Gallucci and Myles Poholke had kept the goalsneak out of the senior team.
“He (Murphy) was close at the selection table, but Gallucci and Poholke both came in and did their jobs last week,” Burton said.
“Both had good energy and were hard at the contest. We look forward to them having another crack at it this week.”
Vice-captain Rory Sloane will miss
Burton said Sloane had trained well but would be given another week to rest the injury.
“Sloaney was pretty close this week, but wasn’t quite as good as we wanted him,” he said.
“We’ll re-assess him over the weekend and hopefully he’ll be available for next week.
“When you make an investment to get that injury right, you don’t want to pull it up short.”
Midfielder Curtly Hampton, who didn’t play at either AFL or SANFL level last weekend, will play in Adelaide’s State League game against Norwood at The Parade on Friday night.
