Adelaide star Rory Laird says the Crows are back to enjoying pre-season training, with the Club’s positivity at an all-time high.
The squad kicked off a three-day trip to the Fleurieu Peninsula on Monday, a trip the half-back described as the perfect balance between “training hard and spending time together”.
“It’s been very positive since we’ve come back, all the boys are really enjoying the training, and everyone’s come back in really good shape,” Laird said.
“The way we’ve returned has allowed us to have more leniency in our training and have a good balance of fun and hard work.
“The variety and overall positivity the coaches have brought to training reflects on us as players and I’ve really enjoyed this part of the year and I think a lot of the boys have too.”

The dual All Australian said developing his leadership skills was also a focus this pre-season.
“Leadership is an area I’m always trying to work on,” he said.
“I’m not the most outspoken person so for me it’s a factor I can keep improving on and it starts with training, so this time of year is really important for me.”

After completing a full training session at West Lakes on Monday morning, the squad travelled to Kuitpo for a paintball match.
Knowing he had a target on his back from fellow half-back Brodie Smith, Laird assured he would return the favour.
“The captain’s the first in everyone’s sites, but Brodie Smith will definitely be up there and Paul Seedsman too – the usual pests of the Club,” he said.
“It’ll be a bit of fun for the boys and take a few shots at some of the coaches as well.”
Adelaide’s three-day trip will finish with an open training session at Noarlunga Oval on Wednesday morning, before the players and coaches start their Christmas break.
