Despite showing patches of their best footy, the SANFL Crows have succumbed to West Adelaide by 69 points at City Mazda Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
In the first quarter, Adelaide kicked the first and last goal of the quarter, but West was able to kick four in between.

Matthew Signorello was one of the better players for the SANFL Crows with 24 disposals, seven clearances, four tackles and a goal.
Andy Otten (16 disposals, five marks and five tackles) led the inexperienced defence, while Jackson Edwards also played his role well, finishing with 15 disposals, 91% kicking efficiency, seven marks and six tackles.
Ben Davis was a highlight up forward with three goals and seven marks, including one hanger on the wing in the third quarter.
Curtly Hampton also booted three goals from his 23 disposals.
State League coach Ryan O’Keefe said that the team showed their best is good enough, but it just needs to be sustained over four quarters.
“Our good footy was good, we started playing really well and we got to within 15 points in the third quarter,” he said.
“It’s our ability to sustain it. In that last quarter, little things ended up zapping our energy.
“Once we drop our effort and our belief and let teams have a run on, they just pile on easy scores and all of a sudden it just flattens and we have to fight hard again.
“Almost every game all year we’ve shown our best is good enough, it’s just about bringing our best for longer, every week, every quarter.”
