Alex Keath made a delayed start to 2018 due to an ankle injury, playing the first of six games in the SANFL in mid-May.
He was a late addition to the senior side in Round 17 and remained in a key defensive post at AFL level for six of the last seven games of the season.
Keath impressed in Adelaide’s three-point victory in Showdown 45 after recording 18 disposals at an elite 94.4 per cent efficiency.
The former cricketer manned emerging Carlton star forward Charlie Curnow in Round 23 and kept him goalless while offering plenty of drive off halfback in the 104-point win over the Blues.
Keath finished with seven rebound 50s, as well as 19 disposals, seven marks and three spoils.
