A 12-year career came to an end as ever-reliable defender Andy Otten called time on his AFL journey.
In 2019, a rejuvenated Otten took to the field as a SANFL leader for Adelaide’s youthful backline and played 17 matches.
Otten played three AFL games at the tail end of 2019, averaging just under 15 disposals a game.
The 30-year-old averaged 20 touches in the SANFL at 80.5 per cent disposal efficiency, providing consistency to a team that had struggled in 2018.
His leadership of the young SANFL backline helped the side advance to the preliminary final.
