Injured Adelaide players are recovering faster and healthier thanks to a new piece of equipment - KangaTech.
Designed and launched by Crows Science and Medical Services Coordinator Steve Saunders, KangaTech is now being used in sporting franchises across the world.
The device provides measurements on a players’ strengths and weaknesses particularly through the hips, thighs, knees and ankles.
“We can take those numbers and build a better program, an individualised program for the athlete that’s more likely to help his performance and reduce injury risk,” Saunders told The Crows Show, brought to you by Optus.
“We’ve got a great database across numerous sports and across a number of different player types.
“That lets us make pretty clear decisions about when we think an athlete is ready to play or ready to train.”
One Crow who has already seen the benefits of KangaTech is wingman Paul Seedsman.
“My strength numbers have increased significantly,” Seedsman said.
“It’s coincided with more consistent footy and continuity.”
KangaTech is now being used all over the world, including in the NBA, EPL, NHL and Champions League.
Also on The Crows Show this week, Don Pyke hits the green with Adelaide Bite general manager Nathan Davison, former Crows ruckman Ben Hudson reflects on his career and Brodie Smith gets grilled by Reilly O’Brien.
The Crows Show airs on Sunday at 11.30am on Channel 7 Adelaide.
