Emerging forward Chloe Scheer will return to Adelaide’s forward line on Sunday as the Crows face the undefeated North Melbourne at Avalon Airport Stadium.
The 19-year-old missed Round Four with suspension after the AFL Match Review handed her a one-match ban for rough conduct.
Scheer comes in for defender Courtney Cramey, who has been sidelined for 2-4 weeks with a hamstring strain.
“Disappointing for Courtney but we’re confident we’ll get her back at some point [this season],” Coach Matthew Clarke said.
“She’s similar to a few of our players who have started in the back half but also spent time in the midfield and forward so it’s a significant gap to cover but we do have a few options.
“Chloe’s last game was really strong and that gives us a bit of cover, but there will need to be a bit of shuffling with Courtney playing back as well.”
SPECIAL SURPRISE: Ponter told she is a Rising Star
Midfielder Rheanne Lugg and utility Maisie Nankivell have been listed as emergencies.
As the two top-placed teams in Conference A, Clarke said claiming the four points would be a challenge.
“It should be a great game, clearly they’re undefeated and their percentage is 200 so their forward line is pretty strong,” he said.
“They’re pretty balanced, both sides are really, around the ball – they’ve got some great midfielders, clearly Emma King’s a strong target for them up forward and [Jess] Duffin in the back half has been influential.
“It’s not just about the midfield battle for me, they’re strong ahead of the ball and behind.
“I’m sure North will win their share of stoppage and so will we so therefore those next contests become the critical ones, but we’ll back ourselves in.”
