Adelaide co-captain Rory Sloane says his side will rely on strong contested ball work to topple the Cats in Geelong.
The Crows face the AFL’s ladder leaders at Kardinia Park on Friday night and will be looking to end a 16-year win drought at the ground.
“Stats are made to be broken,” Sloane told Triple M’s The Rush Hour, when asked about the record.
“If you want to buy into it, you can, but we’re going down there with a clear mindset.”

Sloane revealed “without going too deep” how the Club was preparing for the clash.
“Certainly contested ball has been massive for us,” he said.
“We’ve (also) had a big focus on ball execution.
“We know Geelong are a high-pressure side up forward so we need to be really sharp with our ball movement."
The trip to the Surf Coast will give Sloane the chance to catch up with his brother and potentially a former Crow.
“I might say hello to Paddy (Patrick Dangerfield) as well, see if I can meet young Felicity,” he said.
Sloane said he may even need to organise a gift for his friend’s new baby.
