Adelaide needs to win more contested football and apply better pressure on the opposing team, co-captain Taylor Walker believes.
Speaking on Triple M’s Roo and Ditts, Walker conceded one win from three was “not the start” the team had hoped for in 2019.
“I’ll give you two things that are not at the standard required at our footy club: winning the contested footy and our pressure on the opposition,” Walker said.
“I imagine our fans are getting annoyed with our inconsistency… I can tell you, so are we, and we’re doing something about it.
“We have to be better, as simple as it is, guys have to play their role.
“If you have 16 guys playing well, you usually win.”

Walker said the Crows will need to bring back their best football if they hope to turn the season around.
“We get the ball in our forward half, we pressure the contest, we compete… (but) we’re not doing that at the moment,” he said.
“We recognise what we need to get better at and are training for it.
“Otherwise before we know it, it will be Round 10 and we’ll be thinking what 2019 should have been.
“Lucky we’re only Round Three and we can do something about our form.”
