Adelaide’s trip to the Gold Coast is all about maximising its preparation for next Friday’s huge Preliminary Final, says veteran Richard Douglas.
Players, coaches and football staff flew out to Queensland on Sunday just three days after defeating Greater Western Sydney in Thursday night’s Qualifying Final.
The win secured the Club’s first home Preliminary Final in more than a decade. The Crows will host the winner of Friday night’s huge Semi-Final clash between Geelong at Sydney back at Adelaide Oval.

Douglas said it was a good opportunity to recharge mentally and physically.
“(It’s) a bit of rejuvenation I guess and the best prep for the following Friday night,” Douglas said.
“The boys have enjoyed the opportunity to get away and get a bit of sun and surf and what comes with it.
“We started pre-season back in November at West Lakes, and to go there every day can be a grind at times, particularly over 15 days – no footy – we just thought it’d be a bit much.
“To get away and freshen up mentally and physically, also get a bit of training in, a bit of bonding with the boys, it’s all about best prep for the Prelim Final.”
The squad returns to Adelaide on Tuesday evening.
Tune in to the Monday Wash-Up Live at 5.55pm on the Club’s official Facebook page to hear more from Douglas and coach Don Pyke from the Gold Coast.
