Three Crows will face fitness tests this week ahead of Adelaide’s clash with Gold Coast on Saturday night.
Daniel Talia (ankle), Alex Keath (knee) and Jordan Gallucci (concussion) will all make their case for selection at the Club’s main training session this Thursday.
Crows Science and Medical Services Coordinator Steve Saunders provided a summary of specific player’s status on Tuesday:
Talia will need to overcome symptoms from an ankle injury he sustained in a marking contest during Showdown 47 to be available.
“Dan was able to complete the match, presenting with significant swelling the morning after the game,” Saunders said.
“Pleasingly, since then swelling and function have improved significantly. We expect to be able to manage loads throughout the week and test Daniel at main training Thursday.”
Keath will also be tested on Thursday after sustaining a contusion to his left knee in an aerial contest during Saturday’s match.
“Alex was involved in a heavy collision that has caused swelling and bone bruising to the front of his left knee,” Saunders said.
“He was also able to complete the match, and is improving rapidly. Alex is a good chance at this rate of progress to pass testing on Thursday this week.”
Gallucci will need to pass the Club’s concussion protocols before being cleared to play on Saturday night.
“Jordan has shown positive signs of improvement early in the week,” Saunders said.
“He will be managed according to concussion protocols. We are hopeful he will be medically cleared to play.”
On Tuesday morning, forward Tom Lynch was ruled out for this weekend.
Saunders said Lynch would continue to train at a high level with the group, be assessed on a weekly basis and is likely to return in the next two weeks.

Cam Ellis-Yolmen will also miss Saturday’s clash as he continues to recover from a low-level stress reaction to his right fibula.
“Cam’s requires a little more time before returning to overground running progressions that would see him ready to play,” Saunders said.
“He will miss this weekend’s game, make programmed running progressions and be reassessed early next week.”
Young Crows Ned McHenry (back) and Myles Poholke (calf) have also been ruled out for this weekend.
"Ned is training well and we expect him to be in full training by the weekend. Depending on the training loads completed we will set him to return to play next week or the week after," Saunders said.
"Myles sustained an intramuscular tendon injury to his calf in the SANFL last weekend.
"We expect him to return to play in three weeks given current progress but will need to monitor on a weekly basis given the nature of the injury."
