Vince best in the coaches votes
Bernie Vince signalled his return to form after receiving the maximum 10 votes from both coaches in round 16.
One of Adelaide’s best in the upset win over Geelong, Vince collected 32 disposals and had five centre clearances and eight inside 50s.
Taylor Walker’s four goals saw him receive four votes while Graham Johncock was also among the best with four votes after his 26 possessions in defence.
Simon Goodwin still leads Adelaide’s voting after 16 rounds with 35 votes, only six ahead of Thompson on 29 with Tippett third on 25. Luke Hodge still holds a narrow lead in the overall standings with 80 votes, one ahead of Collingwood’s Dane Swan.
In the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year, head coaches vote each week on a 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 basis. Coaches’ vote only on their own matches, but may vote for players on the opposing team.
