Cameron Taheny is hopeful his standout performance in the SANFL reserves Grand Final will be a reminder to recruiters of his talents. 

The exciting forward booted four goals in Norwood's premiership win, ending an inconsistent season on a high.

Norwood ran out 19-point winners as Taheny, alongside possible top-10 pick Dylan Stephens, improved their draft stocks. 

It closed an up-and-down year for the talented left-footer, who excites with his pace and goal sense. 

"On a personal level I was able to get on the end of a couple and kick a few goals, but it was a good day," he told AFL.com.au.

Taheny's best patches of form this season came against mature opponents: in the Grand Final at reserves level, and earlier in the year playing for Norwood's senior side. 

It was then that he booted three goals on debut against Port Adelaide, before a bag of five against West Adelaide and four against Glenelg. 

"It was nice to get a taste of the senior level in the SANFL. It's always been an aspiration of mine as the level below the AFL. It was nice to play that level against some Port Adelaide players in their team as well," he said. 

"My season's been a bit up and down with a few hiccups with injuries. It probably hasn't been the most consistent season but there's been moments where I've played some good footy in patches. 

"The championships were a bit interrupted, I missed a game against Vic Metro. I didn't achieve what I would have liked to, but I thought I finished strong."

The dynamic forward relies on his athletic prowess to create chances in attack, with his speed (3.01 seconds over 20m at the NAB AFL Draft Combine) and natural jump catching the eye.

Although he was mainly stationed deep in attack during South Australia's under-18 championships, Taheny believes his future could lie elsewhere. 

"My preferred position is forward and that's where I've played most of my footy the past couple of years, but I see myself as being a bit more versatile than others," he said.

"I've played in school footy as a defender and on the wing as well, and in the under-16s championships as a defender as well. I've got a bit of versatility that people might not know about." 

Taheny, who shapes as a possible second-round selection, was one of 12 South Australians who attended the national Combine, while another 22 tested at the SA Combine.
