Two of Adelaide’s trio of Rorys led the way for Adelaide in the AFL Fantasy standings in the Club’s 82-point win over Essendon on Sunday.

Star midfielder Rory Sloane led all comers on the ground with 128 points to record his eighth Fantasy ton in his last ten outings.

Sloane had 33 possessions, including five marks, four tackles and a goal. It is the fifth time this season he has recorded more than 30 disposals in a game.

In a strong round for premium mids, Sloane’s Fantasy score was eighth in the competition and moves his overall round average to 107.2 (equal ninth-best in the AFL).

After a quiet performance against Geelong by his own lofty standards, Sloane looks to be back in fine Fantasy form and should poll big again this weekend against Brisbane at Adelaide Oval.

Rory Laird was the Crows’ second-best Fantasy performer on Sunday afternoon, putting together an impressive display across half-back to record 107 Fantasy points.

Laird had a career-high 36 disposals in the win and mopped up well across the backline, snaring seven marks.

Like his namesake, Laird has been ultra consistent of late for Fantasy coaches with three tons from his past four games.

The 22-year-old defender now boasts an average of 96.1 through his 13 games and continues to attract strong interest among Fantasy coaches, with over 18 per cent ownership.

By the numbers: Round 19 v Essendon

After a strong Round 18 performance against Geelong, young midfielder Matt Crouch impressed again, recording 106 Fantasy points in the win against the Bombers.

Crouch had 33 possessions whilst being tagged, including four marks, four tackles and three clearances.

It is the first time in his career that Crouch has recorded consecutive Fantasy tons, bringing his average over the last three games up to 106.

Scott Thompson was the fourth and final Crow to score 100-plus Fantasy points in Sunday’s win.

Thompson had 32 possessions, including six tackles and four clearances for a Fantasy score of 104.

Whilst many coaches may have expected the 33-year-old to be showing signs of fatigue this late in the season, the wily veteran has proven otherwise. In his last three games, Thompson has averaged 96.3 Fantasy points to maintain his mantle as one of the competition’s premier ball-winning midfielders.

Also worthy of a mention for Adelaide is running half-back Paul Seedsman, who scored 96 Fantasy points.

Seedsman has found it difficult to nail down his spot in the Crows best-22 after injuring his hamstring in late June and has played just two AFL games since Round 12.

However, the 24-year-old looks to have recaptured some form in the win against the Bombers, racking up 23 touches and two goals in the big victory.
