Former Captain Chelsea Randall has been cleared of structural damage to her face, following a collision in Kuwarna’s win over Collingwood on Sunday.
Randall passed her head injury assessment and returned to the field in the third quarter.
“There were two players who were 100% committed, eyes on the ball and unfortunately in the marking contest they clashed heads,” Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said.
“Chelsea ended up with a pretty swollen cheekbone but fortunately for us there was no fracture to the cheekbone but unfortunately for Chelsea she has a pretty swollen face.
“There was no concussion for her either, she had to come off for the whole of the second quarter to do the concussion test, but she was fine.
“She should be fine for this Friday, the only thing is she might be a bit modified at training on Wednesday.”
Utility Najwa Allen could be in the mix to return from a hamstring injury this week.
“If Naj gets through training on Wednesday, she will definitely play this week, whether it be in the trial game (for non-selected players) or against North Melbourne on Friday night,” Harper said.
“The great news for her and our medical staff is that they are all very confident she will be fine to play this week.
“It will be a great feeling for her to play and get through a match, which will fill her with confidence, but we are really happy for her that she will be back doing what she loves."
