Adelaide has added three players to its list at the 2024 Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period.

The Crows brought in Greater Western Sydney free agent Isaac Cumming, before trades with Melbourne and the Giants helped net Alex Neal-Bullen and James Peatling, respectively.

Speaking on Continental Tyres AFL Trade radio, Adelaide GM List Management and Strategy Justin Reid said the Club was “thrilled’ with how the period had panned out.

“It’s great to get Alex, Isaac and James to the Club,” Reid said.

“We’re thrilled with that, it was obviously our objective at the start of the Trade period to bring in some age and games experience, we think that will really help us going into next year.

“We are really happy with the outcome.”

Reid said Neal-Bullen, Cumming and Peatling would boost the side’s versatility ahead of next season.

“I think Nicksy does like the variety,” Reid said.

“Alex (will play) ahead of the ball, which won’t be too dissimilar to what he was playing at Melbourne, James through the midfield and then Isaac has got that flexibility through half-back and wing.

“I think that variety and flexibility gives the coaching group some options during the games.”

Adelaide also managed to hold on to Pick No.4 ahead of November’s Telstra AFL Draft.

Reid said keeping the high pick was a priority, given the strength of this year’s draft crop.

“We need the best player, so now we are through the Trade period, we will sit down and work through that,” Reid said.

“Obviously (National Recruiting Manager Hamish Ogilvie) and the team have been working hard on that.

“We’ve been talking about our midfield, so I’m sure at the top end of the Draft will be those types of players.

“We have a bit of time now, so we’ll work through that, but we are pretty happy where (Pick No.) four sits.”

TRADE WRAP:

Who arrived: Isaac Cumming (GWS free agent), Alex Neal-Bullen (Melbourne), James Peatling (GWS)

Who left: Elliott Himmelberg (Gold Coast)

2024 Telstra AFL Draft picks: 4, 64, 82

Future picks:

Adelaide gave up its future second-round selection to secure Peatling but added later picks through two deals. The Peatling trade netted the Crows future third and fourth round draft selections, while a separate swap with Melbourne led to them exchanging No.46 for a future third-round pick.
