Adelaide has made three changes ahead of its Sunday afternoon clash against Greater Western Sydney at Henson Park.

Having missed the past two games with an ankle injury, Brooke Tonon returns to the lineup, taking her place in the forward pocket.

Premiership duo Teah Charlton and Hannah Munyard also come back into the team, after missing Wednesday night’s clash against Melbourne with adductor and foot injuries, respectively.

Adelaide Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said Tonon would provide a strong boost to the Crows’ attacking set-up.

“Brooke played some good games early in the year which was great and then she hurt her ankle just over a week ago,” Harper said.

“Having her back, fully fit and raring to go will be a massive bonus for us, and she will give us some much-needed fresh legs in the forward half.

“We’ve been struggling to score over the last couple of games, so we need to find something a little bit different in the front half and hopefully she can help with that and kick a few goals.”

Irishwoman Amy Boyle-Carr has been managed, having featured in the Crows’ past four games, while Brooke Boileau and Lily Tarlinton have been omitted.

“Amy’s played four games now and done some really good things on limited preparation, especially having played a full season of Gaelic before coming over, so she’ll have a rest this week,” Harper said.

“Lily (Tarlinton) is a bit stiff, she did some nice things last week, but you’ve got to pick horses for courses and it didn’t quite match up for her this week, but I don’t think it's the last we will see of her.

“Brooke (Boileau) has had a couple of go’s early in the year and another couple recently, and you’ve got to take into account that she’s an 18-year-old, so she’s learning the caper, getting better and in the long-term we think she’ll be a great player for us.”

Sunday’s clash against the Giants will be Adelaide’s third match in ten days and mark the end of its compressed fixture period.

Harper said fitness-wise the squad was in good stead and eager to make up for Wednesday’s loss to Melbourne.

“We think we’ve handled the period alright, even though we didn’t play well last week I don’t think anyone would say we ran out of legs, so I think fitness wise we’ve been good but playing wise not so good,” Harper said.

“The Giants are a vastly improved team this year, they’ve got some good young players and will be a tough challenge for us this Sunday.

“We obviously believe we can win the game, but it certainly won’t be a walk in the park.”

Adelaide faces Greater Western Sydney at Henson Park on Sunday afternoon, with the first bounce 4.35pm (ACDT).
