Adelaide has made three changes to its team ahead of its mid-week fixture against Melbourne on Wednesday night.

The Crows will bring in midfielder Rachelle Martin, wing Taylah Levy and debutant Lily Tarlinton.

Martin and Levy return to the side after being managed for the Week Six game against St Kilda.

Adelaide’s match against the Saints was the start of the Club’s condensed fixture, with four games in 16 days.

Crows Head of Women’s Football said it was important to enter the next fortnight with a full-squad mentality.

“Both Rachele and Taylah were both OK to play last week, but given we’ve got this compressed fixture coming up, we decided to leave them out of last week’s game,” Harper said.

“It’s good to have some fresh legs and it’s good to have Rachelle and Taylah back in the side.”

As the Club revealed earlier, Tarlinton will make her AFLW debut, after being selected at the 2023 Draft.

“Lily is a tall player and she is quite versatile, she can play in the ruck if she has to, she can play forward and she can play down back, so I think you’ll see her get a go at all three of those,” Harper said.

The Crows will, however, be without Abbie Ballard (knee), Teah Charlton (adductor) and Hannah Munyard (foot), with the trio set to miss the game against the Demons.

Ballard was cleared of serious damage to the knee but the Club would take no-risk approach.

“Abbie hurt her knee in a tackle last week and of course when you’ve just done an 11-month rehab, all you can think of is ‘don’t tell me I’ve done it again’,” Harper said.

“The doctors are confident that isn’t the case… but she’ll need at least a week to recover from that.

“Both Teah and Hannah have been managing injuries for the past few weeks and they haven’t been training as much as they would like and we would like.

“They were sore after the game on the weekend, so given we had Rachelle and Taylah to come back in, we’ve been able to give those two a little bit of extra time to recover and try to get right.”

Jess Waterhouse, Brooke Tonon and Tamara Henry have been named as the emergencies.

Adelaide hosts Melbourne at Norwood Oval on Wednesday at 7.15pm.

The match is the Crows’ first mid-week future and it will double as wing Niamh Kelly’s 50th AFLW game, as well as Pride Round.
