Adelaide Captain Jordan Dawson and Vice Captain Ben Keays have been named the 2024 Malcolm Blight Medallists.

Dawson and Keays tied for the Club’s highest individual honour, polling 107 votes apiece and were crowned the winners on Saturday night.

It is the first time the Club’s highest individual honour has been split between two players.

Dawson is a back-to-back winner, having claimed the medal in 2023, while it is the first time Keays has taken home the award.

Keays played all 23 games this season, averaging 16.2 disposals, while also being ranked ‘elite’ amongst the competition for average tackles per game with 3.6.

The 27-year-old was picked up by Adelaide at the 2019 Rookie Draft after playing 30 games for Brisbane.

Since then, he has solidified himself as one of the Crows’ most consistent players and was runner up in the Crows’ Club Champion count in 2022.

Dawson, meanwhile, has once again been rewarded for an outstanding campaign, his second as Adelaide’s Skipper.

In 2024, Dawson played 22 games and averaged 24.5 possessions.

He was rated ‘elite’ in the League for average tackles, with 6.1 per match.

The Adelaide Captain recorded 30-plus disposals against Essendon in Round Six, West Coast (Round Nine) and Richmond (Round 13).

He also starred in the Crows’ Round Nine Showdown win against Port Adelaide with 24 disposals, five clearances and eight contested possessions.

Third-year midfielder Jake Soligo finished second, polling 93 votes, while young defender Max Michalanney (89 votes), Darcy Fogarty (87) and Rory Laird (82) round out the top five.

Soligo enjoyed a breakout campaign, playing all 23 games, averaging 22 disposals and 3.91 clearances.

Adelaide’s Club Champion is determined by coaches rating every player with a score from 1-10 after every game.
