Adelaide has confirmed two changes for its match against Hawthorn at Unley Oval on Sunday afternoon.

The Crows face off against Hawthorn for the first time in the AFLW competition, with Adelaide naming Premiership midfielder Teah Charlton in the team, alongside second-year player Brooke Smith.

The Club confirmed its final team on Friday afternoon, giving Charlton an opportunity to play her first game of 2024 after overcoming a foot injury.

Smith, meanwhile, has earned a spot in the side following a strong pre-season, according to Adelaide Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper.

“It’s great for Teah to be back, she’s played a lot of games, she’s got a lot of experience, so we are pleased to have her back in the side,” Harper said.

“Brooke Smith is exciting, she can rebound off the half-back line, she has got some real speed and has a nice kick.

“She had a magnificent pre-season… She’s only played the one game for us, which was the final minor round match last year, so for her to come in and play a second game is great.

“She’s bided her time and now she gets a chance, so we are looking forward to seeing how she goes.”

Wing Deni Varnhagen and recruit Brooke Boileau have been omitted.

“Deni and Brooke are desperately unlucky to miss out on selection,” Harper said.

“Both played their role well in the first two rounds, however we tried to pick the best team we think is going to help us win this week.”

Varnhagen and Boileau move to the emergency list, alongside small forward Jess Waterhouse.

The match will mark Premiership forward/ruck Caitlin Gould’s 50 game milestone.

There will also be plenty on at the ground, including a Bird in Hand Sparkling Bar and a sign making competition, plus more.
