Adelaide Leader Mitch Hinge says the Club will stay connected and continue to look at ways to improve, following a disappointing end to the 2024 season.

The Crows closed out the year with a loss to minor premier Sydney at the SCG on Saturday night.

Speaking to the media on Monday morning, Hinge said players and coaches would remain united and look closely at what went wrong this year.

“As a group, we’ll be able to take some time to talk and spend a bit of time with each other, which I think is always a good thing,” Hinge said.

“We ended on a bit of a disappointing note… But as long as we stick with each other and move on and have a look at what went wrong.

“We’ll do a bit of a deeper dive on it over the next couple of weeks and go through our end of year review with the coaches.

“There’s definitely fire there for the boys to come through and improve and I know that’s definitely (the case) for me as well.”

Hinge averaged 22.2 disposals, five marks, 5.1 rebound-50s and 6.7 contested possessions across 21 games.

But the backman said he still had plenty he wanted to improve on during the off-season.

“I am slightly disappointed with my personal form. I could probably argue that I’ve improved a little bit and I had some solid performances in there,” Hinge said.

“But I want to be a really, really solid contributor for the team and to get wins.

“Unfortunately I wasn’t necessarily strong enough to do that every week.

“I’m a little bit disappointed and looking at turning things around and to really build and keep improving.”

Although the season didn’t go the way the Club had hoped, Hinge said there were still some positives to take out of the year, including the rise of younger players coming through the ranks.

“It definitely hasn’t been all doom and gloom,” Hinge said.

“We’ve bled some more younger talent and at the back end of the year, we saw Zac Taylor, (Jake) Soligo, (Riley) Thilthorpe and Max Michalanney come along, all these boys who are very young and haven’t played too much footy.

“Getting more games into them and seeing how well they played (was great).

“I think at times those younger boys had quite a bit of load on their shoulders in terms of how injuries shaped or with how the team ended up playing. I couldn’t speak highly enough of the younger, emerging players coming through, they’ve been awesome.”

Player/coach meetings will take place across the next two days, before the offseason break.

First-to-four year players will return on November 11 with the senior players to follow on November 25.
