It’s crunch time for Adelaide’s Fan Fantasy team with our first League matchup against North Melbourne this weekend.

Our fan-selected Fantasy side performed well in Round Two, posting 1915 points to sit just shy of the top 30,000 teams in the competition overall.

The move of Dom Tyson ($301,620) onto the field last round was well timed, with the young Demon midfielder posting 111 points and swelling by $83,220 in value. Tyson was initially selected in our side as cash cow, but his performances could see him cement a permanent spot.

Eagle recruit Xavier Ellis ($184,842) is also proving to be a great selection with 90 points in Round Two after, and will replace young Lion James Aish ($274,224) on the field this week such is the depth of our midfield.

Collingwood duo Scott Pendlebury ($625,253) and Dayne Beams ($521,853) were phenomenal with 152 and 113 points respectively, while Rory Sloane’s ($522,812) brave effort in Showdown XXXVI was rewarded with 113 points. Fantasy gun Gary Ablett ($614,860) let us down with 80 points as our captain, so we need your votes below to help us decide who we back with the responsibility this week.

While our midfield was outstanding, our forwards were disappointing with no player cracking the Fantasy ton. Jarryd Roughead ($455,122) was perhaps the biggest letdown, scoring a paltry 52 points in Hawthorn’s four-point win over Essendon.

Of more pressing concern is our defence, with Sam Mitchell ($517,700) a late withdrawal and Grant Birchall ($430,658) posting a Fantasy coach-killing 47 points. Emergency Jeremy Laidler ($135,500) also failed to pull on the boots for the Swans, which is far from ideal as we head into our first Fantasy League match.

Laidler was stiff to miss selection, but we should consider jumping ship and bringing in another cheap defender while we still have the chance.

Dual-position Magpie Tom Langdon ($210,106, -21 break even) and Richmond utility Ben Griffiths ($188,839, -16 break even) are the standouts, but we would need to free up some cash to bring either man into our side. Vote below on what our next move is to beef up our cheap defensive stocks.

Grant Birchall’s inconsistency also puts him on the chopping block this week. Vote below on whether we should back Birchall to respond, or if we jump ship to an underpriced defender, including Crows Matthew Jaensch ($355,879) and Brodie Smith (384,767), who could inject cash into our kitty.
