Key defender Nick Murray is poised to return from a knee reconstruction against West Adelaide in the SANFL this weekend.
Murray has not played since rupturing his left anterior cruciate ligament against Melbourne at the MCG in Round 19 last year.
The 23-year-old has been training with the main group for the past six weeks and is set to return at Hisense Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
“It’s exciting, everyone is pretty pumped to see Muz back," Crows High Performance Manager Darren Burgess said.
“We’re just over that 10-month mark and he’s been training with the team virtually fully for six weeks, he’s been beating the door down, so he’s certainly ready to go by all of our objective measures.
“The long-term injuries of Harry Schoenberg, Riley Thilthorpe and Nick allows the rehab and conditioning team to really put some work in and address any weaknesses or improve their strengths, so we saw from Schonny on the weekend and I’m certain the guys will see Muz playing this weekend that he’s put on some size and added athleticism.”
Midfielder/forward Izak Rankine has started running as he continues his rehabilitation from a hamstring injury.
“Izak has had a few running sessions and it’s all going to plan,” Burgess said.
“He’ll just progress through the rehab hurdles that we’ve got for him and he’s looking like a 2-3 weekhamstring injury and is on track to be right for the Sydney game all things going well.”
Forward Lachlan Gollant missed last weekend’s SANFL game against Sturt with a foot injury and will be tested at training this week.
