Adelaide forward Taylor Walker had a very special guest at the Crows’ 99-point win over West Coast on Sunday.

For the first time in his career, Walker’s 89-year-old Gran, Lorraine, was at the game to watch her grandson play live.

The Crows ensured it was a night to remember for the Walker family, as they dominated from start-to-finish and recorded a clinical victory over an in-form West Coast.

Speaking to Roo, Ditts and Loz on Triple M Adelaide Breakfast, the 34-year-old said the Crows may have found themselves a good luck charm moving forward.

“She (my gran) hasn’t been to a game before, she gets too nervous and anxious when she watches me play,” Walker said.

“She was down in Adelaide with my Dad and he brought her along which was fantastic, she really loved the experience and I loved having her there.

“After the game she said to me ‘oh Taylor I had no idea how many people were on the field and how close they got to each other, it looks so different on the TV.’

“She chose a great game to come to, and I told her well if this happens every time you are here we’ll need to get you to every game, I even told her I’d book her a flight to Melbourne this week.”

A seven-goal-to-none first term set up Adelaide’s commanding victory, with Skipper Jordan Dawson the prime early mover, eventually finishing the game with 32 disposals and two goals.

Walker spoke of Dawson’s incredible influence on the team, as he continued to grow as a leader.

“His first quarter was unbelievable and that set the tone for us as a team,” Walker said.

“He’s going very well at the moment, Daws, I love him, he’s just such a ripping fella and certainly leading the way for us.

“Everybody played their role in the win, it was a clinical four quarter performance, and something we can take a lot of confidence from.”

The Crows will be looking to build on the win when they travel to the MCG to face a red-hot Hawthorn side.

“They are in very good form, it’s going to be a great test for us and we are really looking forward to the challenge,” Walker said.

“We haven’t won at the MCG for a fair period of time now, so as a group that is something we are really keen to overcome.

“If we can get off to a strong start, like we did against the Eagles, that will put us in good stead to come away with a crucial win.”

Adelaide faces Hawthorn at the MCG on Saturday afternoon, with the first bounce at 1.15pm (ACST).
