Adelaide forward Taylor Walker has revealed some news about High Performance Manager Darren Burgess.
Speaking on Triple M Breakfast with Roo, Ditts and Loz on Tuesday morning, the veteran forward said the internationally renowned fitness boss had injured his hamstring.
And Walker had a cheeky message for Burgess, following his injury.
“I’ll be making sure he does every single bit (of rehab) like he makes me do every single bit of it,” Walker said.
“I think on the weekend, on Sunday from all reports, he must’ve ripped a hamstring playing soccer (and) he was absent from training yesterday.
“But we wish him the best, he’s an absolute champion, I love him.”
Walker, who booted four goals in the Crows’ thrilling win against Carlton on the weekend, said the Club was pleased to notch its first victory of the season.
“It (the win) was very pleasing, for a number of reasons,” Walker said.
“We were able to play the way we wanted to play, we were able to beat a finals contender and they’re (Carlton) very good in the clutch stages of games.
“It was great Bez (Sam Berry) was able to come on and have an impact, he’s done some really nice things this year.
“I thought our midfield was outstanding on the weekend. ROB once again gave them a great look at it and everyone played their role, which was great.”
The seven-time Crows leading goal kicker also lauded teammate Ben Keays, who had put pen-to-paper on a new, three year deal.
Walker said Keays was one of the key pillars at the Crows and the vice captain deserved the contract extension.
“It’s (Keays’ contract extension) is an unbelievable reward for effort,” Walker said.
“He’s got an unbelievable workrate, he’s a great fella, he’s part of the reason why our culture is where it’s at.
“He’s totally deserving of it… He’s made the most of his second opportunity, for sure.”
