Adelaide has made two changes ahead of its Round Three match against Fremantle in Perth on Friday.
The Crows will play the Dockers at Optus Stadium and, as reported earlier on Thursday, defender Jordon Butts will miss the game due to injury.
Backman James Borlase has been named to replace Butts.
Crows Head of Football Adam Kelly said while the injury to Butts was unfortunate, it gave Borlase another chance to step up.
“Buttsy aggravated his ankle and hasn’t come up for the game,” Kelly said.
“As a result, James comes back into the side, and given his recent strong Round One performance versus Gold Coast, he is ready for the opportunity.”
Adelaide has also included wingman Lachlan Sholl in the 23-man team, while midfielder Sam Berry has been omitted.
“In considering selection this week, we decided to change the mix by adding a little more run, which resulted in Sholly coming into the side in place of Sam,” Kelly said.
“Sholly has been in good form throughout the pre-season and early part of the year, and comes into the side with confidence and his game in a strong position.
“Sam himself had a great pre-season and was one of our very best across a summer, which included an excellent performance in our final trial against West Coast.”
Forward Chris Burgess, Ben Keays, Lachlan Murphy, Wayne Milera and Ned McHenry form the five-player interchange, with one to be announced as the substitute an hour before the game.
Luke Nankervis, Elliott Himmelberg and Berry are the emergencies.
The clash with the Dockers will mark a special night for veteran Brodie Smith, who will notch his 250th AFL match.
“Brodie has made an outstanding contribution to the Adelaide Football Club across the past 14 years,” Kelly said.
“Milestones are significant occasions in our game and allow us to express our appreciation for our players and for them to reflect on their journey and those who have helped them along the way.
“There is no better expression of appreciation than a strong performance.
“Regardless of the milestone, that is what we are seeking, but that we have Smithers reaching such a significant milestone adds to the occasion, and I know that our players will want to honour his contribution appropriately through our performance.”
Adelaide takes on Fremantle at Optus Stadium on Friday at 7pm ACDT (4.30pm local).
The game will be broadcast live on Channel 7 in Adelaide and nationwide on Fox Footy and Kayo.
