Adelaide defender Nick Murray says a return to footy is on the horizon, as he continues to recover from a knee reconstruction.
Murray has spent the pre-season diligently working through his rehabilitation, after injuring his knee in Round 18 last year.
The 23-year-old is now back participating in the majority of training sessions and joined Thomo on episode two of Triple M Adelaide’s Crows Chat to give an update on how he is progressing.
“I’m in really good spirits, it was pretty devastating when it happened late last year, but the support of the entire Club has been great and made the rehab period a lot easier,” Murray said.
“I’m about eight months post surgery now and everything has gone well to this point, I’m into all training now except contact, which I’m hoping I’ll be able to tick off in the next couple of weeks.
“From there it will be up to the surgeon to decide what’s next, but hopefully it will be another two to three months.”
Away from the Club, Murray has kept himself busy, continually growing the farm property he and teammate Ned McHenry purchased last year.
He said having an outlet away from footy had helped with his ACL recovery process.
“Ned and I still have the property (in Hartley) and we love it up there, it’s a beautiful part of the world,” Murray said.
“Throughout this rehab it’s been great for me to get down to the farm and just get away from it all from a bit.
“It (getting down to the farm) has kept me very refreshed throughout this process, and something I think will really help me with my footy going forward.”
Crows Chat, hosted by Noffy and Thomo, will air every Sunday at 9am on Triple M Adelaide throughout the season.
