Adelaide has congratulated Erin Phillips on an outstanding AFLW career and her pioneering contribution to the game after announcing her retirement.

Phillips was Adelaide’s inaugural co-captain when the competition began in 2017, and went on to play 46 games and kicked 50 goals for the Crows before joining Port Adelaide in 2022.

During her time at West Lakes, Phillips became a three-time premiership player, three-time All-Australian, two-time Club Champion, two-time AFLW best-and-fairest, two-time Club leading goal kicker, and was twice judged best afield in winning grand finals in 2017 and 2019.

Crows Head of Women’s Football Phil Harper said Phillips had left a lasting legacy on the Club and AFLW competition.

“We would like to congratulate Erin on a magnificent career,” Harper said.

“At her best, she was the premier player in the competition and her achievements are unmatched.

“Her performances particularly in big games speak for themselves but the off-field leadership she brought to our team in its formative years was crucial.

“And along the way, she like many others at our Club, have inspired a generation of young girls to play football and dream big.

“We wish Erin and her wife Tracy – who I might add moved half-way around the world with newly-born twins to join our Club, and provided amazing support throughout the journey with us – all the best for their future adventures along with their children Brooklyn, Blake, Drew and Londyn.”
