SUMMARY
The Crows and Redlegs will be hoping to bounce back after disappointing defeats last round. Adelaide looked out of sorts against Glenelg at the Bay, going down by 41 points in one of its most disappointing SANFL performances of the season. Similarly, Norwood slumped to its heaviest loss of the year falling to reigning premiers Sturt by almost 10 goals in somewhat of a surprise result. A mid-ladder logjam makes this week’s match even more important, with only one win separating the third-placed Redlegs and the seventh-placed Crows on the SANFL ladder after eight rounds. Adelaide’s poor percentage means Saturday’s clash almost becomes a ‘must win’ scenario for the Crows leading into next week’s bye.

THE SIX POINTS
1.
Former Crow Ricky Henderson and development player Dylan Schoenmakers both bagged three goals in Adelaide’s 42-point win over Norwood late last season. Jonathon Beech and Harrison Wigg amassed 27 possessions apiece.

2. The Crows have a good recent record against the Redlegs, winning the past three encounters between the two teams by an average of 39 points.

3. Norwood’s three-game winning streak came to an abrupt end last round. The Redlegs fell to Sturt by 58 points in the club’s worst loss of the year.

4. Scott Thompson amassed 18 contested possessions against Glenelg at Gliderol Stadium last Saturday – ranked second in the League for the round.

5. Ex-Crow Mitch Grigg is among the early Magarey Medal favourites. He’s second in the SANFL for inside 50ms (40), third for clearances (45), fourth for disposals (206) and sixth for contested possessions (92) and hard-ball gets (35).

6. Saturday’s twilight match will be Adelaide’s only SANFL game under lights this season.

IT'S A BIG WEEK FOR… Adelaide’s forward line
The SANFL Crows were soundly beaten by Glenelg last week, but didn’t do themselves any favours with their conversion up forward. Adelaide won the inside 50m count convincingly 53-39 and had just one less scoring shot than the Bays, but could only manage 6.11 compared to Glenelg’s efficient 14.4. Adelaide is ranked last for inside 50ms per goal illustrating the difficulties the Club is having in converting its forward forays into scores. The SANFL Crows will need to right their radar to take it up to the Redlegs this weekend.
