Heath Shaw could be available for Saturday’s clash with Adelaide after the Giants’ vice captain was cleared of any serious injury following a huge collision with Sydney’s Kurt Tippett.
Shaw received a heavy blow to the face from the knee of the former Crow in the first quarter of Saturday night’s game at the SCG. Shaw was stretchered from the ground and assessed overnight in St Vincent’s Hospital with concussion.
Scans cleared the 28-year-old ex-Mapgie of any fractures or structural damage. Shaw was released from hospital on Sunday morning.
GWS Giants GM of Football Graeme Allan refused to rule out the experienced defender for Saturday’s Round 16 clash with the Crows.
“A decision on his availability for next Saturday's match against Adelaide at Spotless Stadium won't be made until he assessed in the coming days,"
