Coach Brenton Sanderson says he expects tough midfielder Rory Sloane to be fit for next week’s clash with the Gold Coast.
One of only seven Crows to play every game so far this season, Sloane will miss the match against Melbourne at the MCG on Sunday with an elbow complaint.
Sanderson said the emerging onballer’s injury wasn’t serious.
“Sloaney will only miss a week. He was touch and go to play on Sunday,” Sanderson told afc.com.au.
“‘Sloaney’ is an important player for us, and a bit like Jason Porplyzia last week we didn’t want to take any unnecessary risk with him.
“We thought it was better to prepare him for next week, and make sure he’s right heading into September.”
While Sloane temporarily joins Adelaide’s injury list, another name has been removed.
Exciting utility Brodie Martin, who hasn’t played since straining his hamstring against Greater Western Sydney in round 16, will make his return with Sturt in the SANFL on Saturday.
Ricky Henderson (ankle) and Andy Otten (knee) are also close to making a comeback, possibly, in the local league next week.
