Adelaide defender Brodie Smith says his side is ready to “have a crack at Melbourne” at the MCG this weekend.

The Crows come into the clash keen to bounce back after consecutive losses to Essendon and Greater Western Sydney.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Smith said he was looking forward to playing at the MCG and would go in with confidence.

“We’ve bounced back today, there's a better feeling around the group and we are ready to have a crack at Melbourne this week,” Smith said.

“We are confident, we played well at the ‘G last time against Collingwood who obviously are going really well.

“We take confidence from that trip that we can play some good footy at the MCG which is important for this group.”

The Crows last played at the MCG in Round 15, when they fell to Collingwood by two points.

The defender said Adelaide was looking to turn around its recent away form and put in a strong performance.

“Our last couple of weeks haven’t been at the level so we are keen to go up there and put on a strong performance against a quality side,” Smith said.

“We feel like we are in a good space in that area but for whatever reason we just haven’t been able to execute it at the level when we travel.

“We have had those sort of education sessions with the young guys about when you go away to try to keep as close to your routine at home as you can.”

Smith said the side was relishing the opportunity to play under some pressure this weekend.

“I think it's good for our group to experience these high-pressure games and opportunities,” Smith said.

“We have spoken about trying not to let the pressure get to you and taking it week by week.

“It’s good for the young guys to realise the position we are in and I think it's a good thing to put ourselves under a bit of pressure to perform.”

Adelaide takes on Melbourne at the MCG on Sunday afternoon at 2.50pm (ACST).
