Key defender Jordon Butts has started light running as he makes his way through the AFL’s concussion protocols, following an incident in Saturday’s win over North Melbourne.

Butts was concussed in a marking contest in the first quarter at Adelaide Oval and subbed out of the game.

“Jordon came off the ground and was assessed by the docs and determined to be concussed, so he’s now in the concussion protocols,” Crows High Performance Manager Darren Burgess said.

“He’s looking pretty good and running around the past two days, and he will be assessed next week as he makes his way through the protocols on his return to play.”

Zac Taylor (foot) is expected to resume running as soon as this week, while Tom Doedee (knee) is in the gym as part of his early rehabilitation following ACL surgery.

“Zac is doing really well, it’s been a big week for him and hopefully culminating in him beginning to run either late this week or early next week,” Burgess said.

“And Tom has been back at the club full-time this week so it’s been good to see him around and mainly doing a lot of upper body stuff and lower body contractions to work on his knee.”
