Adelaide’s speed king Patrick Dangerfield has won his third consecutive AFL Grand Final sprint at the MCG today. All Australian Dangerfield cruised to the finishing line in both the heat and final, powering clear in the first half of both 100m races.The sprint was first held on Grand Final Day in 1977. Originally over a mile, the distance was changed to 100m in 1979. The race wasn’t held between 1987 and 2001, but was reintroduced in 2002.
