Atkins spent two weeks in the SANFL side midway through the season after struggling to find his form and returned to the senior side for Showdown 45 with a point to prove.
In the four games after being recalled, he responded emphatically averaging 24 disposals in contrast to the 14 disposals and 1.6 tackles he averaged in the five games before being dropped.
