Adelaide Coach James Rahilly says it is important for the side to move on quickly following the Crows’ 45-point loss to the Bulldogs on Saturday.
The Dogs led the match at every change to claim a 11.19 (85) to 5.10 (40) victory at Mars Stadium, Ballarat.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Rahilly said the result was not reflective of Adelaide’s season so far.
"That is the test of a young group, you don't let it linger, you put the foot on the throat and go again,” Rahilly said.
"If you look at the stats, our brand has been pretty strong (this season).
"The thing we've just got to work really hard on is just responding and getting back to that brand straight away, not in a couple of weeks.”
Rahilly said the Crows’ contest work let them down against the Dogs.
“The first five minutes we started OK and looked like us and then they just kept showing up at the contest and we weren’t there,” Rahilly said.
“Obviously they are really strong with their handball and shape around the footy, we’ve been good at that, it’s not a trend that we’ve been poor at it, but we just got completely outworked.
“They broke our tackles, they were cleaner with the ball.
“The biggest thing they (the players) said was that it wasn’t us, it didn’t feel like us, and we really struggled to get our game going… we have to review it and respond.”
The Crows host Brisbane at Adelaide Oval this Sunday and will be without defender Mitch Hinge, who has entered the AFL’s concussion protocols after a collision during the match against the Bulldogs.
Rahilly said Adelaide would have to be at their best to beat the second-placed Lions.
"They (Brisbane) are obviously an experienced side, a big-bodied side, so we have got to be ready for that," Rahilly said.
"They probably move the ball a little bit differently to the Bulldogs and we get to play on our home deck so it's going to be a really good challenge."
