Adelaide forward Taylor Walker says he had an important part to play in the prank Head of Football Adam Kelly pulled on defender Patrick Parnell on Monday. 

After being nominated for Mark of the Year for his first quarter grab against the Saints on Sunday, Kelly had the 21-year-old convinced the General Manager of Toyota was so impressed with his effort that he had donated him a car. 

Unfortunately for Parnell… a miniature version of a Toyota was wheeled into the room, much to the delight of his teammates and coaches. 

Speaking on Triple M Breakfast with Roo, Ditts & Loz on Tuesday, Walker revealed that he was the one called upon to provide the all-important prop. 

“At about 10am yesterday, I got a message from Adam Kelly with a picture of those little cars kids drive asking if I had one, and funnily enough the kids were actually in the car driving it at the time,” Walker said. 

“Then I was like ‘yeah I do, why is this for Patty Parnell’s mark’, I knew straight away what it was, and he said yes can you bring it in. 

“So I took it in, with a very frustrated two and three year old with tears running down their eyes asking why are you taking the car Dad, I tried to explain but I was in a rush to go. 

“Kel (Adam Kelly) then asked me to present it (the car), but I said no and drew the line there, poor Patty thought he was getting a car.” 

Parnell’s mark was one of many highlights from the game against the Saints, as the Crows emerged a comprehensive 52-point winner. 

Walker said the performance was the most complete Adelaide had put together this season. 

“(The game was) the first time this year all 23 blokes played their role, it was very pleasing,” Walker said. 

“(Going in) we wanted to out defend them because they are number one for scores against, and I thought we did that. 

“That’d be up there with our best win of the year.” 

Adelaide travels to Ballarat this Saturday for a Round 10 clash against the Western Bulldogs, with the first bounce at 1.40pm (ACST).
