Adelaide has made one change ahead of its Round Nine match against St Kilda at Adelaide Oval on Sunday.
Defender Patrick Parnell returns to the squad, with Nick Murray set to miss the game, as he works his way through the AFL’s concussion protocols.
Parnell, who lined up in Adelaide’s Round Two match against Richmond, was subbed out of that game due to concussion after a tackle in the first quarter.
He entered the AFL’s concussion protocol, before featuring in the Crows’ past three SANFL games.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Adelaide Senior Coach Matthew Nicks said Murray was a “big out” but was confident the Club had enough depth and talent to replace him.
“It’s a big out for us, he’s been our rock back there, but we have other guys ready to step up,” Nicks said.
“It’s (replacing Murray) quite a big decision for us, but Patty Parnell is in good nick.
“He went out through concussion and hasn’t had the chance to come back in.
“We will pick our best side that we feel can go out there and get the job done.”
The Crows have also named midfielder Matt Crouch, who came on as the substitute during last week’s game against Geelong, Ned McHenry, Lachlan Gollant and Elliott Himmelberg on an extended bench.
“Matt (Crouch) played well last week and he put his hand up,” Nicks said.
“He came in earlier than anticipated with Muzza (Nick Murray) going out and we thought he performed particularly well.
“His name is there and we’ll have a look at that depending on whether we make a change to our midfield.”
Adelaide will name its final 22 on Friday at 4.30pm.
The Crows play the Saints at Adelaide Oval on Sunday at 12.40pm.
