Adelaide Senior Coach Matthew Nicks has conceded the substitute decision on Sunday was “one he’d love to have back”.

Midfielder Jake Soligo was subbed from the game during the fourth quarter as Collingwood fought back for a one-point win over the Crows.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Nicks explained Soligo had played a high amount of game time compared to other onballers.

“That’s one I would love to have back but you learn from these things,” Nicks said.

“Soli is playing some great footy, but he had high game-time and we prepared coming in.

“He was intentionally on high game time, and we wanted to get some fresh legs out there.

“We might not have called it when you look back on it.

“In hindsight it’s an easy one.”

Set for another tough test this weekend against Geelong, Nicks is confident his side can bounce back and take it to one of the top teams in the competition.

“We want to go down there and have a real crack at Geelong,” Nicks said.

“It probably took them a little bit to get started this year, but they have now found their mojo.

“We want to go down there on a mission and really take on the best.

“We are a different side to when we played them last.”

Adelaide will face Geelong at Kardinia Park on Saturday, with the first bounce at 1:40pm SA time.
